If the thought of going to the dentist makes you afraid, you may want to consider sedation, or "sleep" dentistry, using an oral sedative.
Prior to your appointment we'll prescribe you a mild sedative or anti-anxiety medication that you would take just before you come in to see us. The sedative will relax you and lower your anxiety about the appointment, allowing you to get your dental work done with a minimum of fear.
Please note that the sedative will make you drowsy and you will not be able to drive for at least 24 hours after your appointment. You'll need to arrange a drive home and someone to care for you at home during the 24 hour period.
If you would prefer a more immediate level of sedation which wears off quickly, we also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation in our office. Nitrous is administered with a mask that is placed over your nose and it provides a moderate level of sedation.
